Section 35 of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security Act 1986 requires that the Inspector-General provide a report to the Prime Minister as soon as practicable after 30 June each year on the operations of the Inspector-General during the year that ended on that 30 June. The Inspector-General provides a report to the responsible minister at the end of each inquiry.
A summary of the report will usually be included in the Inspector-General’s next annual report to the Parliament. The responsible minister may also agree to the public release of information about a particular report at an earlier time. When that occurs, the information is placed on this web page.
